“Is there a limit on how much fruit you should eat in the day?”

February 11, 2014 by Heniti Buick Leave a Comment

The recommendation regarding fruit intake for adults is to consume two serves of fruit per day, ideally as whole fruit rather than fruit juice. Although fruit is a nutritious and essential food, if you are consuming more than two servings per day it is possible that you are not consuming enough of other types of foods or that you are exceeding your daily energy requirements, which may lead to weight gain. If you would like help with maintaining a balanced diet, make an appointment with an Accredited Practising Dietitian, such as myself, or go to the Eat for Health website eatforhealth.gov.au

If you have a nutrition question you’d like answered, please submit them using the contact form on our Contact page.
